What drives the cost of ESG reporting software
Seat price is only part of it. Five things move the total, and they are worth pricing before you compare vendors.
- Seats. How many people enter or review data, rather than how many read the report. On Horizon, five or more moves you to Business at £15 per user per month.
- Frameworks in scope. CSRD and ESRS, IFRS S1 and S2, GRI, TCFD. On a platform that maps one dataset to each framework, adding a framework should not add a collection exercise or a fee.
- Entities and sites. Consolidation across legal entities and operating sites is where effort scales, well before the licence does.
- Scope 3 depth. How many of the fifteen categories you report, and whether supplier data is collected or estimated.
- Assurance. Limited or reasonable assurance decides how much evidence has to be retrievable, which is a platform question rather than a pricing one.

A fifteen-person reporting team on Business is £225 a month, or £2,700 a year, with every framework switched on and no setup fee. The same team on Pro rates would pay more per seat, which is why the volume discount applies automatically at five users.
How much does ESG reporting software cost?
Horizon ESG is £20 per user per month on Pro and £15 per user per month on Business for teams of five or more, with a free two-month trial and no setup fees. Enterprise is quoted where SSO, white-labelling or a custom SLA are needed. Most vendors in this market publish no rates at all, so compare on the total of seats, frameworks and implementation rather than on a headline.
